In depth

Verdict

CAPTAIN DION made all at Chelmsford last month and may well get his own way in the lead. Kevin Ryan’s charge was beaten less than length at Wolverhampton last time and should go very close again with a similar effort. He’s preferred to October’s runner-up over track and trip, Buccaneers Vault, but Pearl Spectre is not out of this off his current mark and Merdon Castle continues to slide down the weights. Dark Side Dream is regularly placed but is hard to win with having recorded just the one success in 25 attempts.
