    Verdict

John Gosden sent out last year’s winner but Faramman finished last of 12 at Kempton on his debut and is fitted with blinkers on his return. Da Vinci started a big price at Chelmsford for his debut but ran down the odds-on favourite in the closing stages to win by a neck. He should be thereabouts once again but the betting suggested PAPA POWER would show improvement on his latest start and he duly returned a winning favourite at Chelmsford when making all for a wide-margin success. Andrew Balding’s colt looks worth sticking with despite carrying a penalty given the remainder make no appeal.
