In depth

Verdict

GRANSTON has run better in his last two starts, latterly when a close third at York and, off the same mark here, James Bethell's gelding is taken to resume winning ways with the main dangers rated as Celtic Change and Wovoka. The last mentioned ran better at Haydock last time but has yet to prove that he stays this far so he looks best watched. The Mark Tompkins-trained Marvo is less exposed than most of these after just four starts but may want a softer surface to show his best form, while similar comments apply to Shaloo Diamond, who came good on heavy ground at Ripon earlier this month. Jim Goldie's Dar Es Salaam is probably better over further and of more interest may be Celtic Change, who ran an encouraging race at York last time. Granston has solid claims though and he is preferred.
