In depth

Verdict

Sky High Guy makes the long trip up from Lambourn and can reward the endeavour of Sylvester Kirk. Trafalgar Day and Plemont Bay are expected to follow him home. Even though the selection has yet to encounter soft conditions, his pedigree screams for this kind of surface. He has been knocking at the door all season and run his best race of the year when fourth in a better race at Galway last time. Kirk now steps him back up to a 12 furlongs and he can gain an overdue success. The horse with the best form on show is Plemont Bay, impressive winner of a weak Newmarket handicap before performing creditably back at Headquarters in a better race behind Sweet Indulgence. The worry is the ground. Any more rain would be against the son of Robellino. Trafalgar Day has 12 lengths to make up on Plemont Bay on Newmarket running but has a weight pull and the ground will be more suitable.
