        Verdict

        Love In Seattle faces no easy task under top weight in a handicap for the first time, especially after nearly a year off and preference is for Lucky Largo, who gets the verdict over Ofaraby. The last mentioned comes here fit form the all-weather but it remains to be seen whether he can translate sand form back on the turf. A similar comment applies to Ian Semple's Desert Heat, whose handicap mark has gone back up following a win at Wolverhampton last month. Richard Guest's Libre ran respectably in the lady riders' race at Doncaster on Thursday and is at least fit, something which cannot be guaranteed with Lynda Ramsden's Meteorite Sun who has an 858 day absence to overcome. Captain Clipper is likely to need the outing, in common with most of David Nicholls runners and of more interest may be recent Kelso hurdles winner Shares. However, it is Lucky Largo that gets the vote. The ex-Irish gelding has not sparkled over hurdles for Steve Gollings but does at least come here fit and starts the season on a fair mark. The booking of Kevin Darley takes the eye and, with the Gollings stable in good form, he gets the vote.
