In depth

Verdict

Gulch's Rose is preferred to Crystal Capella in a race where few can be seriously considered. The selection carried a big reputation into her debut at Lingfield and didn't shape too badly despite returning a beaten favourite in third. She has been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and can repay that kindness by winning this evening. Crystal Capella will be a tough nut to crack as she has run well on both starts and was unfortunate to bump into an above average filly at Nottingham. Josephine Malines is more exposed but shouldn't be underestimated, Maha Dubai may well be able to improve significantly on the form of her Ripon debut whilst Volvoretas Rainbow should be at home over this trip and is from a yard in form. However, it would be a surprise if this didn't go to one of the Newmarket runners and Gulch's Rose is the one that gets our vote.
