In depth
Verdict
Crosspeace, Desert Chief and Pebble Mill are three against the field in this maiden and the vote goes to Crosspeace. The selection was a good second behind Potent Heir last time out, that form has since been franked and with under similar conditions here he will be hard to beat. Desert Chief rates the main danger he is a half brother to the useful performer Oriental Warrior and is from a yard that can do no wrong with it¿s newcomers so he is worth monitoring in the market. Pebble Mill is another well bred newcomer from a top yard but his half brother Millstreet was better over further sand for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Kool Ovation showed improved form to be third behind Countdown at Haydock last time and is another that is sure to improve but he to gives the impression he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip. Of the remainder Branston Lilly is from a shrewd yard and has shown enough to suggest she can win a race of this nature but she may do better in nurseries and for the winner we return to Crosspeace.
