Verdict
A competitive apprentices' handicap opens proceedings and it can go to Smoothie but there are a number of dangers, including Rani Two, Milk And Sultana and Kythia. Looking at the field. Rani Two is back to a winning mark and Dickie Deadeye often goes well in these type of races. Tarawan is now back to a more-realistic mark, and Bluegrass Boy's sole win to date has come over today's course and distance. Milk And Sultana remains in good heart, despite his Nottingham defeat last time, while Kythia has a chance if in the mood, and she tends to go well at this time of year it seems. Smoothie is very closely weighted with Rani Two on recent Leicester form, so give him a chance, although Kernel Dowery and Bluegrass By maybe have a couple of lengths to find. Billy Bathwick is another that is back to near a winning mark, while Kelseas Kolby generally runs well but has never been tried over this trip. Place all of this into the mix and we come down on the side of Smoothie.
