        Verdict

        A decent event in which last years winner Lagudin will be attempting to follow up. Since beating Chianti here last year, he has only seen the racecourse twice, once in the spring, where he was clearly below his best and he was then given a break until re-appearing here earlier this month, where he showed next to nothing behind Golden Silca. He has plenty to prove at present. Parasol, another to be lightly raced this term, achieved little in beating solitary rival Moayed at Epsom, but if he can re-produce his effort behind Rock Of Gibraltar in last years Dewhurst, he would be the one to beat. Grampian, Common World and the filly Mythic all have place claims, but the vote goes to Island House, who is a more than useful performer at this level. He will appreciate the give in the ground and while this trip is his minimum nowadays, he will come into his own with the stiff uphill finish.
