In depth
Verdict
Annambo has a lot of weight to give away and so we will side with Double Banded ahead of Dr Sharp. The last named takes a real drop in class but Tom Tate's runner would need a real deluge of rain in order to be at his best. He has won on good ground before though so cannot be ruled out now dropped in class. However Double Banded is progressive and John Dunlop's son of Mark Of Esteem shapes as if he will improve further for this further step up in trip. Kayf Aramis would prefer softer ground and possibly also a sterner test of stamina, whilst Inchpast ran better in defeat last time out and has place claims again if running to that level. Lord Oroko and Featherlight need respect as both are consistent and as three-year-old's they get a handy weight-for-age allowance. Annambo also comes here in top form but this race is a lot tougher and the former Stuart Williams inmate needs to step up. Dar Es Salaam ran too badly to be true last time out on the all-weather but it remains to be seen whether this step up in trip will really suit. An open contest, in which narrow preference is for Double Banded.
