After landing a Leicester maiden, Velox started favourite for a Haydock handicap over this trip but nothing went right and he had to settle for second behind Double Discount. Having landed a three-year-old handicap in great style at Ascot, LOVE MARMALADE has come up against older horses in two subsequent starts and done very well. He's 8lb higher than for his victory but looks to have every chance of getting back on the winning trail. Urban Dance was well supported for a maiden here last month and duly obliged. The handicapper hasn't gone overboard with a mark of 90 and the Godolphin colt looks a nice prospect. Lucanin has disappointed so far this season and Dandy has run poorly since scoring at Chepstow.
