In depth

Verdict

Neville Callaghan looks to have found the ideal opportunity for Melrose Place to return to winning ways and she is the TEAMtalk selection in the opener. The daughter of Danetime was not disgraced on revised terms behind Ikan over six furlongs here last month, looking as though the return to the minimum trip would help. The filly gets that here and with Frankie Dettori taking over in the saddle she gets the vote. The dangers include joint topweights Riva Royale and Lord Of The Inn who are closely matched on a line through Waders Dream, Favola from the Luca Cumani stable that has a good record at this meeting and recent Chepstow winner Valiant Romeo from the in form Mick Channon stable. Man Eater has to be respected with the ever more impressive Ryan Moore taking off a valuable 5lbs but Melrose Place holds solid claims and looks the one to beat.
