    Verdict

This looks to be a typically competitive two-year-old Newmarket maiden and one that, in all probability will prove to be fairly informative. Several of the bigger stables introduce interesting newcomers. Included amongst them are Sir Michael Stoute¿s duo Kris Kin and Rossellini, who will be ridden by Johnny Murtagh. John Gosden also saddles two, Sentry and Pirouettes, the latter being a daughter of Royal Applause and the mount of Frankie Dettori. Henry Cecil¿s juvenile shave been going well this term and the master of Warren Place is represented here by My Mellors, a son of Woodman. A market move for him would be interesting. Aidan O¿Brien has done well with his two-year-old runners at this meeting in the past and it would be a surprise if France did not fair better than on his debut at Newbury but the TEAMtalk selection is for Desert Star. Another representative from the Sir Michael Stoute yard, he was not knocked about on his debut in the York maiden won by Governor Brown and, with plenty of improvement to come, he gets the nod.
