Verdict

Godolphin have taken the last two runnings of this race so both Eddie Jock and Calming Influence need respect, however there are some interesting rivals led by Eagle Mountain, Bankable and Stubbs Art, and we will take a chance on EAGLE MOUNTAIN. Like several of Mike De Kock's, Eagle Mountain is a former Ballydoyle inmate and his moment in the sun came when winning a brace of Group Two's over at the Curragh. He is a talented individual who was last seen in the Group One Champion Stakes last season, when beaten by a short head by Literato. If he is fully tuned up today then he should go well, although a drop of rain wouldn't go amiss. Eddie Jock is a fairly new recruit to the Godolphin team but he has a bit to find and so a bigger danger may be Bankable. Starting off this season as an 85-rated handicapper, the colt has made giant strides and has been placed twice in Group races recently. Fanjura is highly thought of but this looks a tough race for his return, Stubbs Art was only beaten by four lengths in the 2000 Guineas, whilst Perfect Stride steps up in class and has plenty to find on Guineas running with the former. Ordnance Row is a decent horse but his wins come at a lower level and so we are happy to plump for Eagle Mountain to rise to the top.
