    Verdict

Nothing appeals as having really solid claims in the finale but STOW rates the pick from Bowder Stone and Debdene Bank. The selection disappointed at Goodwood in August but looked to be on the way back when staying on into a never nearer fifth in a competitive contest at Newbury. The race wasn't really run to suit and there is a danger that he won't get a strong pace here either but the track should play to his strengths. Bowder Stone was favoured by racing prominently at Chester at the weekend and ran well to finish third. He's clearly in good heart at present and a similar performance should see him finish there or thereabouts in this company. Debdene Bank has more to prove as the lightly raced five year old makes her handicap debut this afternoon. She caught the eye on her penultimate start in a Windsor maiden that has worked out nicely and is out of a dam that won over middle distances so she should be suited by this trip. The likes of Nutkin and Free Offer have the ability to score but they also have a fair few questions to answer now and the claims of Stow are preferred.
