Verdict
Material Girl finished ahead of Yes Can Do on the July course here in August but has been beaten twice since on the all-weather. Shagalla makes more appeal with her latest sixth at Nottingham coming on soft ground. It’s been a race to get a run into FIREBIRD SONG this season but Charlie Appleby’s patience can be rewarded with a debut success as the Invincible Spirit filly has plenty of stamina in her pedigree and her dam is by Pivotal so soft going shouldn’t be a problem. Suakin also has a nice pedigree and hails from a powerful stable. Her dam won on heavy going so she looks a viable alternative.
