Verdict

Torcello has had a light campaign but is still 5lb higher than when landing this 12 months ago. The Whipmaster is only a pound higher than when successful at Windsor in June but MR ALAN (NAP) loves the mud and defied a big weight to score at Nottingham last month. He’s on a career-high mark now but the return to 1m4f will suit and he doesn’t have many miles on the clock. Splendent has won three times this year and was third over course and distance last time but the trip is a concern for Wind Your Neck In so the three-year-old filly Kardia may be best of the rest making her handicap debut.
