In depth

Verdict

Narrowly beaten in last year’s 2000 Guineas, NATIVE TRAIL made no mistake in the Irish equivalent. The Godolphin colt subsequently placed in the Eclipse and drops down in trip and class for this. Light Infantry failed to win last season but went close in Group 1 company in France on a couple of occasions. He’s clear of the rest of these at the weights including Group 2 winner Mutasaabeq and Group 3 winner Checkandchallenge while Imperial Fighter has bit to find with a couple of these.
