        Verdict

        Regal Parade, Miss Lucifer, Whazzis and Furnace look the quarter for the short list and we will take Regal Parade to score. In saying that, Mark Johnston's charge is not yet proven on turf, but the gelding's win at Southwell reads well in the context of this race and he looks to have plenty of scope for improvement so we give him the nod. Furnace could be the big danger. Michael Bell's colt handles fast ground and is a course and distance winners so is respected, and after being highly tried this looks very much more his level. Whazzis looks best of the rest, while Miss Lucifer would clearly prefer some cut in the ground and with that in mind we will stick with Regal Parade to score.
