In depth

Verdict

A wide open three-year-old handicap can be won by the top-weight Elliots World, Kereshan and Consular can also be expected to run well. Mark Johnston's colt has struggled this season against good class opposition he should feel more at home back in handicap company. He ran well in a another valuable handicap at Haydock in May, when he finished six lengths behind Home Affairs. He has dropped in the weights since that effort, and this does look a slightly easier race. Home Affairs is trained by Sir Michael Stoute who runs Kerashan. This son of Sinndar put in a tremendous effort at Epsom last time when second to today's rival Enforcer. He is much better off at the weights today and should play his part in the finish. Consular beat the good yardstick Clueless in a maiden at Haydock before running well behind Munsef at Royal York. He still looks on a fair mark and could be each-way value. Others to note are Blaise Hollow and Salinja, but Elliots World has a touch of class and can defy top-weight.
