Verdict

Maputo bolted up on his handicap debut at Redcar having won after a lay-off at Hamilton. He seems certain to make a bold bid for the hat-trick, despite the penalty, but this looks ultra-competitive with several open to further improvement. Godolphin are represented by Cat O'mountain, who won his last two starts as a juvenile, and the once-raced Chesterfield while Feel Like Dancing has his sights lowered after finishing fourth in the Chester Vase. MR FITZROY makes his handicap bow off a potentially lenient mark judged on his latest third here behind Granelli. If he lasts home, Andrew Balding's mount could give the others plenty to think about. Ronaldinho and Number One London are more exposed than the others.
