In depth

Verdict

Spectrum Of Light was weak in the market when runner-up to Desert Flyer at Newcastle and the Godolphin colt will make a bold bid to go one better. John Gosden trained that latter winner and has SUNRAY MAJOR engaged here. He's a half-brother to the brilliant Kingman and several other smart winners and his dam won the French 1000 Guineas so he's taken to make a winning start. Boss Power, a son of Frankel, finished last of four at Yarmouth in August but lost all chance at the start and is certain to improve while My Oberon is amongst several other very well connected newcomers on show.
