        Verdict

        A competitive finale but Tommy Smith comes in to this chasing a hat-trick after recent wins at Pontefract and Redcar and should go well despite a subsequent 7lb rise. Awake finished a close second on the latter occasion and has claims of reversing the form on 6lb better terms while the pacey Budelli should not be inconvenienced by the drop to the minimum trip after scoring narrowly over 6f at Goodwood last time. Brave Burt is well treated on the pick of his form and shaped as though returning to form last time while in-form Whistler handles any ground and is another to consider.
