Verdict
An interesting conditions race and from a shortlist of Snoqualmie Boy, Many Volumes and Candy Critic we will side with Snoqualmie Boy. David Elsworth's colt ran with great credit when fourth in a competitive handicap at Goodwood. He hasn't proven to be the easiest horse to win with however he likes this quick ground and looked ready to strike a blow last time out. If there is no pace on though he may struggle, and the horse to take advantage may be Many Volumes. Henry Cecil's colt hasn't been beaten far in his two most recent outings and should appreciate this easier company. He is effective on this ground and with still more improvement to come, he looks the main danger. South African raider Candy Critic is an unknown as he has been racing most recently in Nad Al Sheba and should be afforded due respect, whilst Champus is an interesting contender with Ryan Moore booked, and whilst the market will help guide, his German form would suggest a massive leap up is needed. New Beginning needs to step up on recent efforts but seems to hold his form pretty well and whilst Heroes could go well, we are happy to return to Snoqualmie Boy as the selection.
