Verdict

Northern raiders Classy Moon and Hurstwood take a big leap in class after their respective victories though the former is held in high regard. Another from Yorkshire, VISINARI, was extremely impressive when making all over the course and distance last month and though taking on better company will take all the beating on that evidence. Guildsman followed an impressive debut victory with a cracking run in the Coventry Stakes where he led inside the final furlong only to be run out of it close home. He had Royal Lytham behind at Ascot though the latter ran better than his finishing position indicates. Platinum Star followed a comfortable Leicester victory with a narrow defeat in the Windsor Castle Stakes and is likely to be thereabouts again.
