It was soft going when FINEST SOUND finished runner-up in the Britannia at Ascot last month. He was no match for the progressive Khaloosy on that occasion but has the form in the book with today’s rivals upped in class. The latter is trained by Roger Varian and he runs novice winner Establish while Eastern World landed a maiden on the Rowley course here and Haqeeqy defied a penalty in novice company over 7f last time. Surf Dancer and Dance Fever ran well in this grade on their respective handicap debuts at Sandown and Windsor but Impatient faces a tougher task than when second at Kempton. Into Faith is interesting having won a valuable conditions race in testing ground when trained in France with winning partner Pierre-Charles Boudot back on board today.
