In depth

Verdict

A potentially decent maiden and VERMONT appears to be the percentage call to get off the mark. Luca Cumani's charge chased home an odds-on shot on debut at Sandown and the value of that form has been boosted by a subsequent victory for the third. Toast Of The Town gets a 5lb allowance against the boys. She was beaten a neck at Ascot in what looked to be a decent contest, though she disappointed next time out. Lions Park caught the eye on debut at Haydock Park and the manner in which he took on that assignment suggests that this step up in trip would suit. The market is watched in relation to the newcomers although Refectory looks particularly noteworthy. A half-brother to Sugar Ray, it seems significant that connections have gone to the trouble of booking Ryan Moore for the mount.
