In depth

Verdict

Once again, it is difficult to be definite in attempting to name the winner but, for what it is worth, the vote goes to Hot Shot Hamish, with others getting a mention for the short list being Transcend and Tredegar. A 40,000 guineas son of Desert Prince, Hot Shot Hamish certainly is one to consider based on breeding, while Inchlaggan is one of the runners that showed debut promise and that has to be considered today. A 40,000 guineas son of Mark Of Esteem, Sunburn also catches the eye, while, being a half-brother to the likes of Suggestive, the 190,000 guineas purchase Transcend gets a favourable mention too. Tredegar's second on his second run, at Lingfield, last time marks him down as a key player, while We'll Come's form is decent enough, not least his very good run in a valuable sales race here last time, and he should also be considered. Finally, a 45,000 guineas daughter of Royal Academy, Bussel is another to give some thought to, particularly if attracting support. In fact, the betting might provide you with a few clues but, without that, we will side with Hot Shot Hamish.
