In depth
Verdict
A race in which favourites don't have a great record however we will plump for the (likely to be popular) Ea ahead of Artimino and Mutanaseb. Sir Michael Stoute's colt was only beaten half a length in the Britannia at Royal Ascot and would arguably have won in another fifty yards. Steadily progressive, there appears to be plenty of improvement to come and assuming that the rains don't come, he looks sure to run a big race for his consistently in-form trainer. Always Fruitful heads the weights and was progressive as a two-year-old however it would be a grandioso performance to give weight away to the whole field coming back from over a year off the track. Stablemate Colorado Rapid may prove more of a danger as he was punted at Sandown last weekend when narrowly finishing second. Mutanaseb was well fancied in that same race and wasn't beaten far back in fifth so may give another decent account. Aqmaar needs to bounce back from a poor run but has ability, and the same applies to Truly Enchanting. At a price Tybalt could go well as he may be better suited by this track, however Ea is the confident selection.
