      Verdict

      This is a competitive handicap to open the card and the vote is given to Steady As A Rock who is narrowly preferred to Thunderousapplause and Musical Beat. The selection was a little disappointing at Newcastle last time but that was on heavy ground and back on more suitable ground he should take plenty of beating. Thunderousapplause ran a fair race when finishing fourth behind Express Wish at Haydock last time and the form of that race has worked out well so so he has to enter calculations. Musical Beat is dropped in trip after finishing third behind Rose Of Petra at Folkestone last time and she has ground to suit here but she may find this 7f a little on the sharp side. Multitude is from a yard in form so is another worth considering but Steady As A Rock looks the most likely winner and as such is nominated as our selection.
