Verdict
Well beaten in the 2000 Guineas, Larchmont Lad was more at home in a Listed race over 7f on the Rowley course here when beaten only a head. Beat The Bank lost his unbeaten record in the Jersey Stakes at Ascot and this is easier while D'bai was outclassed in the French Derby but is still preferred to the other Godolphin runner, Syphax. The latter was easily beaten by FOREST RANGER in a valuable conditions race at Newcastle in April and Richard Fahey’s colt may come good again today having been aimed high since then competing in both the Dante and St James’s Palace Stakes. Grey Britain’s Listed win came over further while Ronald R went close in the Britannia at Ascot and Tricorn tries his luck in pattern company for the first time.
