In depth

Tenbury Wells was beaten off today’s mark when last in action though is open to improvement this year having been gelded. End Result ended last season with a victory at Newbury but is 6lb higher on her reappearance and WAIT FOREVER has the more recent form. The latter has tumbled down the weights since arriving from Italy in 2019 and Marco Botti’s charge looks capable of scoring off his current mark on last month’s second at Doncaster. Master The Stars is unexposed on Turf and is another with a shout while a tongue-tie is added to Alpine Mistral’s headgear and Sandyman debuts for a new yard.

Dashing Roger 80-1 (9-1) Prominent, pushed along and weakened 2f out, last of 18, 27 3/4l behind Haqeeqy (9-5) at Doncaster 1m hcp (2) gd in Mar.

Tenbury Wells (USA) 3-1fav (8-8) Tracked leaders, pushed along 3f out, close up over 1f out, stayed on same pace inside final furlong, 4th of 11, 2 1/2l behind Ilaraab (8-8) at Newbury 1m 2f hcp (2) gd in Sep.

Alpine Mistral (IRE) 9-1 (9-5) Raced keenly tracking leaders, went 2nd over 5f out until 3f out, weakened inside final 2f, soon behind, last of 5, 11 1/4l behind River Dawn (8-9) at Windsor 1m hcp (3) gd in May.

Master The Stars (GER) 13-2 (9-6) Held up in rear, steady headway when ridden over 2f out, ran on strongly to chase leaders entering final furlong, kept on strongly, 3rd of 11, 1/4l behind Live Your Dream (8-12) at Newcastle 1m 2f hcp (3) pol in Apr.
