          Verdict

          Best Before has plenty of weight but is consistent enough to warrant support in the opener, with Eastern Hope, Secluded and Macs Talisman others who may be involved. This is a line-up large in quantity but lacking strength in depth, and Best Before has more going for him than most. The David Evans team is in fair form and the four-year-old has a low draw that should boost his chances of improving enough to get back to winning ways. Since scoring at Windsor in June he has only gone up seven-pounds for some decent efforts in defeat at Goodwood, Newbury and Kempton, and will not be overawed by tonight's opposition. Eastern Hope does not win too often but ran an encouraging race at Redcar thanks to the blinkers being left off and is a place possible along with Secluded whose stable is doing a bit better this month. Mac's Talisman was having his first outing over a mile when third in a Musselburgh seller, and as this is not much better, he is another to consider for the frame. Bets are best kept to the minimum here, and the smallest of wagers on Best Before is the suggestion.
