In depth
Verdict
The most expensive race of the day has attracted a massive turnout, but the likely favourite La Vie Est Belle is hard to ignore and gets the vote over Ticker Tape and Magical Mimi. Rod Millman's charge has plenty going for her as three of the last four winners have been fillies carrying less than eight stone five pounds. In addition she has held her form well, chasing home our old friend Paradise Isle at Nottingham a fortnight ago. Connections deliberately missed Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy to go for this and their patience can be rewarded. She should certainly master Ticker Tape this time on 17lb better terms for a beating of less than two lengths at Doncaster, although the latter can prove best of those drawn high. Magical Mimi has a magical jockey in the shape of Lisa Jones who just gets better and better. The young South African takes over from Ian Mongan on this scopey Nottingham winner, with Mongan riding the stable's other fancy, Wavertree Dream. Lisa's mount will be a bigger price though and is worthy of each-way support. There is plenty of prizemony up for grabs, and La Vie Est Belle can claim the lion's share.
