Verdict
The concluding event on the second day of Newmarket's Craven meeting is the Wood Ditton Stakes for unraced two-year-olds. Always a race that produces plenty of winners, last year's winning trainer John Dunlop is represented by Kristal Forest, the mount of George Duffield with Pat Eddery opting to ride Brian Meehan's Ark Admiral instead. Sir Michael Stoute saddles three with Kieren Fallon riding Distinction, Jimmy Fortune on Gallant Hero and Ocean Spirit under Johnny Murtagh. The first mentioned looks best of the trio. Henry Cecil's runners always have to be respected at this meeting so it would be no surprise to see Touch Light, a son of Distant View, taking a hand but in all reality this is probably a race best watched with an eye to the future.
