In depth

Verdict

Only three of the 12 runners set to face the starter for this maiden have raced previously but they set a fair standard for the others to aim at. Best of the once-raced trio is probably James Given's Wunders Dream, who was only beaten a head by Tuesday's runaway conditions race winner Mazepa at Nottingham on her debut. Of the newcomers Monchique represents the Alan Berry yard that has yet to strike top form but can never be discounted in these races, while Salome's Attack trained by Mick Channon, the Brian Meehan-trained Sister Bluebird and Tease from the Richard Hannon stable are all likely types on breeding.
