Verdict

A very tricky finale for punters here and from a shortlist of Elisiario, Sonny Parkin, King Columbo and GRAND VIZIER, it is the last-named who can come out on top. Chris Wall's five-year-old comes here on the back of a Kempton success where he battled well to master Brouhaha. That was off a mark of 85, and whilst his record shows that he is not as good on the turf, he may still be able to take advantage of this 13lb lower mark. If the ground stays on the quick side then course specialist Sonny Parkin should run well, assuming that he has got over his last run where he had to be pulled up. Elisiario represents a trainer in good form and the step back up to a mile should suit this son of Clodovil, whilst Northern Jem may improve on his recent comeback at the track over a longer trip and must be of interest accordingly. What's Up Doc has been in good form under both codes recently, whilst King Columbo has a good record here but has a 4lb rise in the weights for a narrow success last time which might push him over the edge. Miss Mujanna and Manere Bay both have stamina to prove, so of more interest may be the very consistent Seasonal Cross who surely deserves to get her head in front sooner rather than later. An interesting heat then, where a pin may come in handy, but our narrow vote goes to Grand Vizier.
