          Verdict

          Despite his long absence it would be folly to underestimate Tomasino on his return to action. He is proven in soft ground, goes well fresh and has the assistance of Kevin Darley, while Transatlantic is another proven in conditions and is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark. Bourgeois impressed when beating Dancing Phantom at York and he can be forgiven his effort in the Ebor where like quite a few of the runners, he was never able to get competitive. A winner on soft ground in France as a three-year-old, he will be in his element. King's Mill has missed several engagements recently on account of the fast ground, but if he is fully tuned up after his break, he must go well, while others to consider include the tough Robandela, Lingo, who is unexposed at the trip (he is a half-brother to a middle-distance winner in France), and the lightly raced Stance, who will appreciate the give underfoot. However, the vote goes to Martin Bosley's Sabadilla, who shaped with plenty of promise on only his second outing for present connection's, when close up behind the progressive Prompt Payment on the July course. The Handicapper has given him a chance here as he has won off a mark of 110, when handing out a beating to the high-class Yavana's Pace three years ago. He is clearly not as good now, but he still retains a fair amount of ability and will enjoy the soft ground.
