In depth

Verdict

Godolphin won this three years in succession before a massive upset a year ago. They are represented by Good Place and Winters Moon with the former just about having the call after beating three rivals in a conditions event over the track and trip last time. Winter's Moon will need to find major improvement after her moderate run at Salisbury while Forte's success in a Kempton maiden wouldn't normally lead to a place in a Group 1 contest. Together Forever has progressed with every run and found soft ground to her liking in a Listed contest at the Curragh so she could go well at a fair price. Agnes Stewart looks one for next year after she galloped her rivals into the ground in the May Hill at Doncaster and she should like the conditions, a remark that also applies to LUCIDA who looks the one to be on. Jim Bolger's filly tackles the trip for the first time but wasn't stopping when seeing off Fadhayyil in the Rockel over 7f here and her previous run behind Cursory Glance in the Moyglare is the best form on offer. Marsh Hawk is guaranteed to enjoy the conditions and though taking a leap in grade looked very progressive at Newbury where she made all for an easy victory over 7f.
