In depth

Verdict

Soft going was almost certainly to blame for Le Reveur’s poor showing at Doncaster last month but he’s on a long losing run as is Oh Herberts Reign. A winner twice on Tapeta, Southwold has placed in both starts on Turf this year and should be thereabouts again but BIRD OF PLAY continues to thrive under 7lb claimer Elle-May Croot and gets the nod over Where's Freddy, who took advantage of a lower mark to score over 7f here last time but has gone up 3lb for that.
