        In depth

        Formwatch

Sir Ferbet (IRE) Mixed bag of efforts so far this season and best effort came on the AW; steadily improving but may not be good enough off this mark.

Salty Jack (IRE) Has run well here before and reproduction of latest run should see him go close though is hard to win with these days.

Noble Pursuit Good chance if putting last run behind him; suspicion he is more effective over 7f so this stiff mile may not suit.

Mamore Gap (IRE) Generally consistent sort who has been given a short break and looks set to run a good race today.

Toppling Looks badly handicapped at present and worth avoiding here.

Munadil Poor run last time and step down in trip are factors that make this colt opposable.

Muyassir (IRE) Excellent chance if coming back to his form of earlier this season; handles most surfaces.

Invader Effective 8-10f; could well need this outing to sharpen him up but is consistent enough to play a major role here without winning.

Finished Article (IRE) Not at his best on soft ground at Ascot last time but had previously run up to his best at Goodwood; good chance at the weights.

Thesis (IRE) Lightly raced enough to have some improvement in him but step back in trip is a worry and stable is not firing.

Haasil (IRE) Quality effort last time out at Redcar gives this horse an excellent chance and looks the one to beat.

Aswan (IRE) Much improved run last time out at Kempton; every chance on that effort and likely to start favourite.

Forest Dancer (IRE) Ran too badly to be true last time out but would have an excellent chance if reproducing effort on the July course here in August.

Menaggio (USA) Lightly raced and certainly capable of bettering his run at Doncaster last month; an interesting outsider.

Ile Michel A shame that this gelding's trainer is in such poor form; capable of winning this on all previous form and trainer form may be worth taking a chance with.

Just Nick Improved effort over this trip last month but not the most reliable of performers; acts on any ground.

Millenium Moonbeam (USA) Did not cope with the soft surface last time out but had previously shown ability at Doncaster; one to consider.

Willoughby's Boy (IRE) Has been inconsistent this term and best left alone here.

Musical Heath (IRE) Fairly consistent and has the raw ability to do well but could want it firmer.

Forest Heath (IRE) Very consistent and has ability but could without this step back in trip and others preferred.

Autumn Rain (USA) Basic level of form shown looks below what is required to land this type of competitive event.

Slumbering (IRE) Has had a busy year and put up his best effort so far over 7f at York recently; every chance for in-form trainer and underrated jockey.

Arpeggio Has run well here in the past but is unpredictable and not to be relied upon.

Sabo Rose Two recent solid efforts give this a chance and has shown ability here in the past; any market moves should be noted.

Bold Raider Did not enjoy himself on the heavy ground at Haydock last time out but had previously shown remarkable consistency over this trip; one of the likely winners.

Marnor (USA) The trainer has messed around with this horse's distance all season but he appears best at this trip; reproduction of Ayr run last month would give him every chance.

Everest (IRE) Has tailed off in recent runs including in an apprentice race here last time; place chance at best.

Topton (IRE) Grand old favourite who rarely runs a poor race; effective over this trip and in good heart; lively contender.

Naviasky (IRE) Recent runs do not give much hope and trainer is in poor form.

Quantum Leap Has run well all season and seems to have improved since being stepped up in trip; one to consider at a working man's price.
