    Verdict

Sierra Vista gets a speculative vote ahead of Fire Up The Band, Paradise Isle, Mutamared and Baltic King in an open contest. David Barker has placed Sierra Vista to good effect in the past, including twice here. Although both successes were over five furlongs, he has won over six, and will be all the better for his recent return to action in Listed company at Newcastle where he was just touched off by Rising Shadow. Compensation awaits, and he can prove too strong for Fire Up The Band who showed his well being when landing a conditions event at Nottingham a fortnight ago. Good enough to win a Group 3 in his prime, he should still pay his way this summer. Paradise Isle won this last year with Quito and Baltic King behind, and has had a small break since running at Nad Al Sheba. He will have to be at his best to repeat last year's feat, but it would be no surprise if he were to be there or thereabouts. Mutamared is going the right way and should now be spot on so cannot be discounted entirely, but for the winner we return to Sierra Vista.
