    Verdict

Colorado Rapid has to be respected here following a very promising debut, however this race is fukll of well bred newcomers and we will side with Shevchenko, ahead of Broghill, Chord and Desert Dew. Jeremy Noseda's colt has an exceptional pedigree, being by Rock Of Gibralter out of a Woodman mare Hula Angel who landed the Irish one thousand guineas. The trip will be ideal and if living up to his illustrious parents he will be hard to beat. Chord, a son of Pivotal and Broghill, a son of Selkirk, are both from powerful stables and should be watched closely in the betting. Desert Dew is from a yard in cracking form and this 250 thousand guineas purchase is another that could go well first time out. Colorado Rapid chased home Amazing Request on his Chepstow debut and should be open to plenty of improvement. The are many possibles in this wide open maiden and so caution is advised, but Shevchenko looks the part on paper and he gets our vote.
