Verdict

American Graffiti won easily at Newcastle back in February but hasn’t raced since and makes his handicap debut along with UNIVERSAL ORDER (NAP). The latter returned to action with a comfortable odds-on success over today’s trip at Bath and David Simcock’s colt is fancied to show further progress today and go in again. Edmond Dantes escapes a penalty for winning an apprentices’ race at Goodwood but is upped in class for this while Takumi also won at Goodwood before suffering a neck defeat at Ripon and is raised a further 4lb. Elisheba may find this easier than a recent task at York but Politicise has a bit to prove over today’s trip on recent form.
