Verdict
There are a couple of question marks over DONATIVUM but he should be classy enough to see off his rivals today; he looks to have most to fear from Alyarf. Three wins last season for the selection makes impressive reading, especially when we consider that the last and best was the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf over in Santa Anita. Following that success he left the care of John Gosden for pastures new and with his new yard in good form he is likely to be good enough to win today, although this will be the softest ground that he has raced on to date. If he fails to cope with it then it might pay to side with Alyarf. Barry Hills' colt was not disgraced behind Delegator on his reappearance in the Craven Stakes, but again his best runs have come on good-to-firm ground. Nasri has become a tad disappointing and needs to improve on recent efforts, as do Thunderous Mood and Captain Ramius who have plenty to find on official ratings. Courageous also fits that bill, so a bigger danger may be Baileys Cacao who lost little caste in defeat last time. This looks a good opening for Donativum to continue his winning streak.
