      Verdict

This is tricky, so look to the betting for guidance, but without that, we will side with Nanosecond ahead of Road Home and Hunting Party. There's a thing, January running on the July course in June. This February foal has a likeable pedigree and is one to consider. Luca Cumani's Manipulate cost 70,000 guineas and is another to like on pedigree. Monet's Masterpiece did not build on his Kempton effort at Brighton last time, and I guess those blinkers are on for a reason, although he cannot be dismissed from calculations. Nanosecond also has good breeding and John Gosden's colt is another to consider. The step up in trip might help Rhinebird recapture early juvenile promise, while Road Home cost 130,000 guineas and is an obvious contender based on breeding. Sonny Mac did not show too much on his autumn debut but should improve, while Dubai Melody, who is related to a lot of winners, seems to be John Gosden's second string on breeding. Finally, Hunting Party has shown enough promise to suggest some money might come his way, but the form of India Run's Chepstow run hasn't been franked yet and Queen Isabella might be a more interesting prospect in middle-distance handicaps. Overall, though, the vote goes to Nanosecond.
