Verdict

Not much form to go on and, as ever in this type of event, the market will provide further clues but Granato is preferred over Hatch of those to have raced previously while Growler is an interesting newcomer. Alec Stewart's charge was easy to back on his debut at Pontefract earlier in the month but shaped with an abundance of promise by chasing home a well regarded type and, with further improvement anticipated, sets a fair standard to the remainder. Hatch also showed plenty of ability on his debut in an above average maiden over seven furlongs here in late June but hasn't been seen since and may just need the outing. John Dunlop introduces Growler who makes plenty of appeal on breeding and, along with Richard Hannon's newcomer Cello, should be closely monitored for any significant support.
