    Verdict

Akkeringa has been raised 8lb for scoring at Doncaster but comes here with a 6lb penalty and his rider claims 3lb so he's effectively 5lb well in. His stable is in tremendous form so he should be thereabouts. Operatic has won twice over the trip and led for a long way in a Class 3 handicap at Goodwood but Letmelivemylife, a winner on Polytrack and Tapeta, has yet to race on Turf. Desert Gulf will find this a bit easier than at Ascot last week but the vote goes to PRINCE OF ABINGTON, runner-up after a long break at Lingfield last month where the third has scored twice subsequently. Neither of the remaining pair can be dismissed in a tight-looking handicap.
