With Kieren Fallon booked to ride Hawkit, David Evans' charge gets the vote over Western Roots, Lady Piste and Arkholme in the claimer that opens the card. Hawkit has picked up a couple of wins this year, at Wolverhampton and more recently in claiming company at Hamilton in May when trained by Jamie Osborne. The nine-year-old so nearly made a winning start for his new stable in handicap company at Windsor last time when beaten a head by Mr Tambourine Man, and with Fallon on board now, he will surely go close. Western Roots has the assistance of Frankie Dettori and is another that will appreciate this company after fading behind Tony Tie at Ayr. Lady Piste won very comfortably in similar company at Lingfield last time but has more to do against the principals, while Arkholme, disappointing at Haydock, may do better over this shorter trip. For the winner we return to Hawkit.
