Verdict

LUCKY VEGA (NAP) is the only Group 1 winner in the field having won the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last month with The Lir Jet back in third. Jessica Harrington’s colt failed to get a clear run in the National Stakes subsequently but still finished in front of the re-opposing Charterhouse and looks the one to beat back over 6f for this. Lipizzaner has already fallen victim to both the selection and The Lir Jet while Tactical wasn’t at his best in soft going in France last time but won the July Stakes here before that. Minzaal landed the Gimcrack at York and Supremacy won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood in fine style while Frankie picks up the ride on the unbeaten Listed winner Method in what looks a hot renewal.
